The material comes from one of the best and most traditional german mining sites and originated in the Lower Devonian era some 400 million years ago. The colour ranges from dark-blue to anthracite with a fine, scaly structure. The service life is expected to be over 100 years.
Quality characteristics:
Original Altlayer® slate corresponds to the codes A1, T1 and S1 and conforms to CE standards in all other respects. There is constant in-house monitoring and proof of origin in the form of a pallet label.
